About the Organization

“Ekibeki has created a holistic approach to livelihood generation in rural and peri urban India with a focus on women & youth artisans, making sustainable handmade products, by developing ownership models and an ecosystem around them which makes them self-sustaining.

India boasts of 3000 traditional crafts providing livelihood opportunities next only to agriculture, however most crafts do not have the patronage they once enjoyed, and face competition from cheap plastic and machine-made substitutes. Ekibeki connects the crafts to an appreciative consumer base on one end, and adapts the traditional products to newer needs. “
