About the Organization

“Peepul is an education-focused non-profit that works towards improving student learning outcomes in government school systems in India. They are looking to shape a future where public schools provide education that is at par, if not better, than private schools so that children of the poorest background receive an excellent, holistic education. They closely partner with national, state and local governments to design and implement high-quality, scalable solutions that enable meaningful engagement between students and teachers, and help every child reach their potential.

Peepul leverages the experience of practitioners and their deep knowledge of government systems to enable large-scale systemic transformation in partnership with governments. This is achieved through a high-engagement teaching toolkit, teacher skilling, academic mentoring, and aligning incentives and accountability across the system.

Peepul is presently working with more than 300,000 teachers and impacting the learning levels of more than 9.5 million students in 1,530 schools under Municipal Corporation of Delhi Schools and 10,000+ schools under CM Rise programme implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Peepul believes ‘proof-of-concept’ schools that are run within the government system while contextualizing classroom best practices to be adopted in the Indian government school context. As of the year 2022, they have been able to codify and disseminate these practices across the four programmes directly in 52 districts in Madhya Pradesh along with 1,530 Municipal Corporation of Delhi Schools.”
