Slam Out Loud (Foundation of Arts for Social Change in India)
Using the transformational power of arts for empowering children to build 21st century leadership and life skills
“Slam Out Loud (SOL) uses the transformational power of performance and visual arts to build socio-emotional learning (SEL) and creative confidence skills like communication, critical thinking, and empathy in children from underserved communities in urban and rural India.
They do this through their two programs – The Jijivisha Fellowship (TJF), our high-touch program which places artists into classrooms for a year-long fellowship cycle, and Arts for All (AFA), a mid-touch program which involves teacher training to implement our curriculum, in partnership with State Governments and NGOs.
Their in-person programming impacts 75,000+ children.
Their online and offline programmes have reached over 4.7 million children in 19 countries and 23 Indian states. They have reached 5.8 million students and 0.2 million teachers in Punjab through their curriculum uploaded on the state government education portal (DIKSHA).
SOL’s work has been recognised by the OECD, World Bank and UNESCO, and their partners include UNICEF, Girl Rising, HP, and Nilekani Philanthropies.”
